The trio of Victor Moses, Ahmed Musa and John Obi Mikel are reportedly missing in the Super Eagles squad that departed Abuja for Kaduna ahead of their international friendly against the Stallions of Burkina Faso billed for Tuesday.
The trio who were outstanding in Saturday’s World Cup qualifying match where the Eagles defeated the Flames of Malawi 2-0, suffered slight knocks in the course of the game.
SavidNews exclusively gathered that the Eagles, checked out of the Transcorp Hotel in Calabar few minutes to moon time on Sunday to arrive Abuja before 4pm on air before connecting to Kaduna by road.
The Tuesday clash is expected as a repeat pairing of the Africa Cup of Nations final in which the Eagles edged out their West African neighbours 1-0 to lift the continent’s top football trophy.
Nigeria will again be up for the third-tackle in with the Stallions in exact space of seven months since double meeting at the AFCON 2013 in South Africa.
A top source confirmed the absence of John Mikel Mikel, Ahmed Musa and Moses on Sunday noon from the travelling roster to Kaduna.
Mikel who was voted Man of the Match and was handed a $5,000 cheque by Tom Tom, one of the key sponsors of the national team, opt out owing to a slight knock picked on Saturday against Malawi.
