Former Inter Milan star bags award in USA

Seattle Sounders striker Obafemi Martins have won the MLS player of the week award after match-day 29.

Martins’ goal against Real Salt Lake was also picked as goal of the week ahead of Fabian Espindola's goal for Week 29's AT&T Goal of the Week.

Martins earned 30.43 percent of the week's vote for his finish in the Seattle Sounders' 2-0 triumph over Real Salt Lake, and that was enough to beat the 30.19 percent that Espindola received for his headed finish in the New York Red Bulls' 2-0 victory against Toronto FC.

Martins was also voted Week 29's MLS Player of the Week for his one-goal, one-assist performance against Real Salt Lake.
