United joins race for the signature of Bale

Manchester United could be about to frustrate Real Madrid and make a move for long-term target Gareth Bale.

David Moyes’ side may bid for the Tottenham attacker as they look to bring in a marquee name.

The paper has revealed that Spurs are becoming frustrated with Los Blancos, with chairman Daniel Levy questioning whether the Santiago Bernabeu side have the funds available to sign Bale.

Talks between Florentino Perez and the Premier League side have been continually ongoing, with a resolution seemingly no nearer.

As such, the Old Trafford club will hope to hijack the deal, although it is unclear whether they would be willing to rise to Tottenham’s asking price.
