Former Secretary-General of Nigeria Football Federation, NFF, Chief Taiwo Ogunjobi has said that the Golden Eaglets should be prepared for a tough contest in Group F when the FIFA Under-17 World Cup in United Arab Emirate kicks-off.
The FIFA Under-17 World Cup will be holding in United Arab Emirates from October 17 to November 7.
The Eaglets who were the 2007 winners have been pitched alongside, the defending champions, Mexico, Sweden and Iraq in Grouf F.
Ogunjobi, while reacting to the draws made on Monday by FIFA warned that Mexico and Iraq could pose serious threat to the Eaglets' quest to go beyond the group stage and possibly win the title.
"You can see football has come of age.There is no way you can look down on any room now. For example, Mexico is a football playing nation just like Nigeria and we cannot underrate them. And as the defending champions, they will come out strongly this time around again.
"And then Iraq, we can't risk taking them for granted. They will like to prove a point that they can't be looked down upon, definitely they will live up to expectation. Football has come of age, everyday other countries are improving and for Iraq to have qualified from the Asia zone, speaks alot of their quality which must not be ignored by any," he said.
