The 2nd edition of the CBN Beach Soccer Challenge Cup has officially been postponed. This was confirmed to us by the co-ordinator of the event, Mr Taye Olajide, who is also a top official at Sports Solution Limited.
The event will now hold from 20th to 22nd of September 2013 in Abuja. The showpiece was fixed for 6th to 9th September 2013, against 26th to 29th August 2013.
The decision was reached after close deliberation with the Nigeria Football Federation, with regards to the all-important World Cup Qualifier between Nigeria and Malawi, scheduled to take place in Calabar by 7th September 2013.
The cordinator of the event, Mr Taiwo Olajide, emphasised on the need to honour the Super Eagles on their World Cup Qualification campaign, insisting there are no view of future re-scheduling.
"We will like to honour our dearest Super Eagles, in their World Cup ticket bid. This was the main reason for the postponement after close deliberation with stakeholders of the game," he said.
"The new date will be honoured and remain as scheduled, because all logistics have been put in place, to ensure the kick-off of the Beach Soccer Challenge Cup," he insisted.
