Italian giants Milan have confirmed the sale of Kevin Prince Boateng to German outfit Schalke 04.
The Ghanaian international, born in Berlin, leaves the Rossoneri after three seasons in Italy. He scored 17 goals in 100 games across all competition for Massimiliano Allegri’s side.
His last contribution to the Milan cause came on Wednesday evening when his brace against PSV allowed his club to qualify for the group stages of the Champions League.
Milan did not reveal the financial details of the transfer, but it is thought the 26-year-old has generated a fee of around €10m for the San Siro outfit.
Boateng underwent his medical with Schalke this morning.
“I’m happy to be back home in Germany,” the former Portsmouth man noted. “This is the best championship in the world.
“The first contact with Schalke was a year ago, but sometimes you have to wait for the right time to move.”
