Leon Balogun, has said his focus is to
improve his career with Darmastadt which just gained promotion to the
German second division this season.
Balogun has one cap for the Super
Eagles: a friendly match against Mexico in the build-up to the 2014 FIFA
World Cup. He picked up an injury in the game and was thus not
considered for selection for the trip to Brazil.
Darmstadt had been campaigning in the
German third division before securing promotion to the second tier this
season and the former Fortuna Dusseldorf defender, who joined them in
the summer, said he hopes to keep fit and play as many matches as
possible to help keep the club in the Bundesliga 2.
“The
club’s target is to establish ourselves in this division. My personal
goal is just to stay healthy and make as many games as possible as we go
along.”
Darmstadt sit fourth in the Bundesliga 2
with 26 points from 16 matches but Balogun believes the club can keep
their place in the league.
