Football Follower Heaps Praises On Unuanel

Abuja based football lover, Saidu Bala has extolled the qualities of Kwara United head coach Samson Unuanel.

After watching the Afonja Warriors display great technique against Ranchers Bees in a Nigeria National League week 30 replay on Friday, Saidu was forced to admit the outstanding qualities of the coach.

Both sides had been ordered to complete the remaining 28 minutes by the Nigeria Football Federation Appeals Committee, after the initial encounter was deadlocked due to one or two reasons.

The replay which was held at the FIFA Goal Project Technical Centre in Abuja recorded violent and shameful scenes.

Bees needed a draw to pick up the final Nigeria Professional Football League ticket, while the Afonja Warriors were in dire need of an outright win to achieve their objective too.

The game got underway at the nation's Federal Capital Territory with Bees threading the tactical lane, while the Warriors made their intentions clear with an all-out attack system.

Ten minutes to the end of the tension soaked battle, the Unuanel tutored side were awarded a penalty kick, which the Kaduna team felt shouldn't have stood.

The match referee was given the beaten of his life by a Bees player and the game was forced to be abandoned.

Coach Unuanel received mixed support from some advocates of the team during the 2013/14 NNL season.

It is widely believed the barrage of criticisms that he suffered from some sections of the football family motivated him to ensure he delivers the promotion ticket to the soccer loving Kwara indigenes.

“I saw a bunch of tactical and technical Kwara United lads today (Friday). They played to instruction of the technical crew led by Coach Unuanel,” Saidu said to Futball Galore at the match venue.

“The whole United supporters, advocates and stakeholders should give this man credit for giving the boys the edge to do well.

“He is a coach player and any serious club would like to have him in his team. His qualities are not in doubt,” the Plateau born man added.

Meanwhile, in the next few days, the NFF will be taking a crucial decision on the much publicised game.
