Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho believes his team is well-placed to win this season’s UEFA Champions League title.
The current Premier League leaders made it 16 wins from 22 outings in all competitions this term by beating Sporting Lisbon 3-1 in the Champions League on Wednesday night.
The victory saw the Blues finish six points clear of second-placed Schalke in Group G and prompted suggestions from Mourinho that perhaps they are in the kind of form which can land them a second Champions League title.
“We did our job, we were professional, we cannot make fun with football, and I’m pleased with my team,” he told Sky Sports 1 HD.
“It was a good reaction and good for players who are not playing a lot to get more minutes.
“Last year we were close (when beaten in the semi-final by eventual runners-up Atletico Madrid) and we didn’t have the team playing such a high level as we have this season so we can dream.
“But let’s see if the sharks let us do that, there are a few sharks in the ocean.”
