Sunday Rotimi hungry for success

Dolphins goalkeeper, Rotimi Sunday has assured to maintain a clean sheet in the Multi Sports pre-season tournament in Lagos. The former Nigerian champions are the title holders of the football event holding in Lagos from January 18 to 22. The eight-team tournament will feature top Glo Premier League sides namely Sharks, Warri Wolves, Dolphins and Nigeria National League (NNL) side, Remo Stars as well as FC Ebeide, Yobo Academy, Multi Sports FC and an unnamed side. Rotimi said his side are not taking the pre-season build-up tournament lightly as they hope to use the event to announce their preparedness to be champions in the 2013/14 Glo Premier League season. “We resumed camp on Friday to prepare for the pre-season tournament in Lagos, we won the title last year and are more determined to defend the title this time around. “The pre-season tournament is bigger and tougher with the inclusion of top Glo Premier League sides that were not there in the last edition. “So we already know the task before us is daunting but we’ve vowed not to disappoint our supporters by going all the way to lift the trophy once again. “We’ve resolved to double our efforts now that the stake is high and we intend to use the forum to announce our commitment towards winning the league shield in the coming season. “We’re hungry for the league trophy, in fact, that’s the sole task before us in the upcoming season. I’ve taken the target as a personal challenge to put in my very best to ensure our campaign is not only smooth but the dream fully realised,” said the Nigerian goal-tender to supersport.com. The Port Harcourt-based side are expected to depart for Lagos on Thursday for the tournament that kicks off on Saturday. The tournament is expected to serve the participating teams as build-up for the forthcoming 2013/14 football season.
