Kano Pillars lose two key players to Northern rivals

El-Kanemi Warriors have signed Kano Pillars pair of Sani Haliru and Alhaji Mohammed for the 2013/14 Glo Premier League season. The two players have joined El-Kanemi on one-year contracts for undisclosed amounts. Supersport.com has learned that officials of the Warriors have been in constant contact with Haliru and Mohammed before the end of last season. Both players finally agreed to join the Maiduguri-based club last month after their former coach, Salisu Yusuf was contracted as head coach. The club have plans to continue to bolster their ranks following off-season departures of key players like Rafael Boumsong, Ezekiel Thompson and Zakka Bala. "We have signed two players from Kano Pillars. They are Alhaji Mohammed, a right full back and goalkeeper Sani Haliru. They are players we have been looking at for while. We will still be looking out to add quality players for the coming season," said an official of El-Kanemi to supersport.com. Haliru and Mohammed are currently part of El-Kanemi's pre-season camping in Kano.
