AFCON cities revealed, DRC to host U23

The Confederation of African Football's executive committee has revealed the host cities for the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco.

Rabat, Marrakech, Agadir and Tangier will host the matches for the 17 January to 7 February tournament.

Morocco's largest city Casablanca will be the "alternative'' or reserve venue.

Caf also said the Libyan Football Federation had submitted cities and venues for approval for its hosting of the 2017 Nations Cup.

Libya was supposed to host the 2013 tournament but allowed South Africa to take over because of the 2011 civil war that ousted late Libya leader Muammar Gaddafi.

Meanwhile, CAF has announced that the 2015 African U-23 Championship will be hosted by Democratic Republic of Congo.

Timeline for future competitions were also approved.

The 2015 African U-20 Championship in Senegal will take place between 8 and 22 March, while the U-17 Tournament will be hold in the same year from 2 to 16 May in Niger.

Cameroon has been selected to host the 2016 African Women's Championship. The 2014 edition, hosted by Namibia, will go on in October (11 to 25).
