Martins in action, gets injured in MLS match- More Nigerians shines for their respective clubs

~Former Newcastle striker Obafemi Akinwunmi Martins suffered an injury scare, as he was forced off in the 34th minute in an MLS game against Toronto FC on Sunday. The ex-Rubin star set-up Sounders first goal of the match.


~Widzew Lodz were pushovers to Gornik Zabrze, loosing three-nil at home. Lodz' playmaker Princewell Okachi failed to shine. He had a dull 90 minutes.


~At the Esprit Arena, Fortuna Dusseldolf failed to impress their fans in a Bundesliga 2 encounter against 1860 Munich. Nigerian-born right-back Leon Balogun featured in the 2-1 loss.

~Kingsley Onuegbu's 38th minute strike couldn't stop Jahn Regensburg from going down 2-1 at Duisburg. He was on for 90 minutes.

~At the Andruv Stadion, 10-man Sigma Olomouc fought back to hold visitors, Teplice to a thrilling two-all draw. Enterprising Teplice forward Eugene Salami was on the pitch for 52 minutes. He made way for Ivo Taborsky.
