Nani wants to stay at Manchester United, with the 26-year-old keen to sign a new deal to commit his future to the club. David Moyes is also minded to make the winger part of his plans as he seeks to retain the Premier League in his first season in charge.
Nani has entered the final two years of his contract and, though the winger's future has appeared uncertain, with discussions between United and Jorge Mendes, his agent, intermittent after beginning before the end of last season, he wants to stay and fight for a starting place under Moyes.
With Nani having missed United's three-week pre-season tour of Asia and Australia as he recovered from nose surgery, the Portuguese has had little time to impress the new manager.
Yet in last week's friendly with Crewe Alexandra he scored both goals in a 2-0 win before a tight groin caused his withdrawal and he missed Sunday's Community Shield victory over Wigan.
After facing Crewe Nani hinted he wanted to remain at the champions when speaking of his ambition for the coming season.
"I hope to win the league again and, for my personal wishes, I want to be at my best and score a lot of goals. Like I said, I just need to be at my best and then everything will come together," he said.
