Ahead of their first round first leg CAF Champions League game against Smouha SC of Egypt on Sunday in Aba, Enyimba captain, Chinedu Udoji has posited that they expect a tougher challenge from the Egyptians than they got when they faced Buffles du Borgou of Benin Republic in the previous round.
The People’s Elephants come face-to-face with Smouha at the Aba township stadium on Sunday, and need to get a win to stand a good chance of progressing in the competition, and Udoji reckons it will be tough.
“It will be a tough game,” he told sl10.ng. “They are a good side and they have good players as well, so we are expecting them to be tougher than Buffles du Borgou.
“We want to get to the group stages of the competition and for us to that means we have to beat some very tough teams, but we recognize the magnitude of the challenge we have on our hands,” he said.
The central defender however, says despite expecting a tough challenge from the Egyptians, he is also expecting a win.
“We are also a good side and I know they will also be wary of us. We did well in the previous round and we will be better by the time we play them. We will also give them a tough game and at the end I am confident we shall prevail.”
