Garba Lawal Expects Tough Semi Final Clash Against Black Satellites

Ex-international Garba Lawal admits the Flying Eagles of Nigeria clash against arch rivals Black Satellites of Ghana will be tough.

Nigeria will play in their sixth consecutive semi-final at the African Youth Championship after qualifying as Group A winners with seven points.

Lawal, a former Esperance Sportive Tunis midfielder is envisaging a tough clash against the Black Satellites at the Stade Léopold Sédar Senghor on Wednesday.

Both countries played two friendly matches against each other before the competition – the first ending in a 2-2 draw – while Nigeria won the second 2-0.

“It will be a tough one and I’m sure the teams know this. It’s not just for Nigeria; it is the same for the Ghanaian team as well,” he said.

“They are both strong teams and they know this will be a tough game and given our history, I wouldn’t expect anything less.”

“We have seen that we have a very strong team and they shouldn’t be judged solely on that game against Cote D’Ivoire. They’ve shown how good they are and I think they can go all the way,” the well respected administrator added.
