The world awaits the arrival of the Flamingoes

Flamingoes have been tipped by followers of the game to be the first African team to lift the FIFA U17 Women World Cup.

I was at Ganaja Village in Lokoja, where I sampled the opinion of 4 football fans, two men and two women, and they expressed satisfaction at the level of preparation embarked upon by the team's technical crew headed by Bala Nkiyu.

Away from the fans opinion, the team crashed out in the quarter finals of the last two editions, though due to one or two factors.

A team with the presence of some of the best young talents in the land like Ginika Ikeh, Uche Kalu, Dayo Adesanya, Aminat Yakubu, Cynthia Aku, Habeebat Akinwande, Bukky Ogunnoiki, Joy Bokiri, Rashidat Adebisi, Tessy Biahwo and the powerful Chinwendu Ihezuo can't be seen as pushovers.

Not to forget that hungry players like the skillful Chinwendu Opara, Remilekun Omamuli, Tina Long John, Ganiyat Adeleke, Chimebere Opara, Lovina Okafor, Charity Ehibor, Ayorinde Mariam and Abiodun Lizzy are waiting be discovered.

With these crop of players coupled with the technical crew's experience the team will get to the promised land.

The road to victory in Costa Rica 2014 has just started, let the goals rain girls.....
