Honda opens Milan goal diary

Keisuke Honda made a scoring start to his AC Milan career by netting in the 3-1 Coppa Italia victory over Spezia on Wednesday night.

The Japan international, who joined the Rossoneri from CSKA Moscow earlier this month, scored with a fairly comfortable tap-in in the 47th minute as his new club produced a winning result in front of new manager Clarence Seedorf who watched from the stands.

Robinho opened the scoring with a 28th-minute header before Giampaolo Pazzini added a second just minutes later prior to Honda’s third early in the second half.

Milan were overseen by Mauro Tassotti who stepped in as caretaker following the sacking of Massimiliano Allegri on Monday.
