The London club were being linked with a €60m bid for the Argentine international striker, but Mourinho insists such a move won’t happen.
“I don’t believe they are interested in selling Higuain, so why should we be interested in someone we feel it’s impossible to get?” he stated.
“He’s a player I know we cannot get, because he moved from Real Madrid to Napoli six months ago, he is doing very well and Napoli is not normally a club that sells.”
Higuain, who worked under Mourinho at Real, cost Napoli €37.5m in the summer. He has scored 13 goals in 21 games for the Italian club so far.
