Rangers Gun Down Lobi In Enugu

Enugu Rangers crushed Lobi Stars 3-1 in the match-day 17 of the Nigeria Professional Football League on Sunday.
Rangers started the match with a positive mindset with Edwin Eziyodaye seeing his wonderful chip cleared off the line by Samson Gbadebo.
Bobby Clement and Alex Emenike also had chances to score for the home side.

A blistering start to the second half saw Matthew Etim fire Rangers into the lead 6 minutes after resumption.

Fast rising youngster Godwin Aguda increased the Flying Antelopes' advantage on the hour mark.

An own goal from Shehu Nasir made it 3-0 on the stroke of 65 minutes as the player headed the ball beyond his goalkeeper.

The hosts seemed determined to establish a passing rhythm, with their midfielders knocking the ball around with confidence.

A golden opportunity went begging in the 84th minute as Onoriode Odah blasted over the bar.

Obiomma Arinze did find the back of the net for Lobi Stars in the last minute of the game, but the goal was a mere consolation for the Pride of Benue.

The win took Rangers to eight in the standings.
