Nasarawa Held By Ifeanyi Uba

Nasarawa United and Ifeanyi Uba FC earned a point each when their Nigeria Professional Football League encounter ended in a 1-1 draw at the Apa Akur Stadium on Sunday afternoon.

Esosa Igbinoba fired the home side ahead early in the first half before Bright Onyedikachi netted the equalizer for the visitors.

The hosts dominated the early exchanges by using their width and created the first chance in the seventh minute when Igbinoba met a pass, only to send his effort wide.

The opening goal eventually arrived 13 minutes into the game when Igbinoba buried his low shot past goalkeeper Chidiebere Eze.

Then it was the visitors who started creating some opportunities and in the 28th minute Onyedikachi delivered a teasing free-kick that sailed into the net.

Nasarawa United were back in the attack in the 45th minute but Eze made a brilliant save to keep the scores level.

The home side had another opportunity to take the lead on the stroke of the hour mark. However Ugochukwu Leonard was denied by a point blank save from Eze.

The Solid Miners threatened to restore their lead eleven minutes later with Leonard again released on goal, but the striker fired a tame shot straight at the goalkeeper.

At the end of the match, the two sides settled for a point each.
