Uplift Football Team Pays Ogun State Governor A Courtesy Visit


The pioneering 22-member of Uplift Football Team who travelled to Italy for a 14-day Summer football programme at Udinese FC in Udine had paid a courtesy visit to Ogun State Governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun at his Oke-Mosan office in Abeokuta.

The 22-member of Uplift Football Team discovered during Uplifting Under-15 Grassroot Football Programme organised by the First Lady of Ogun State, Mrs Olufunso Amosun, performed well at Udine by winning 5 and suffering 2 defeats.

Reacting to the various experience shared by the players, the governor charged the 22-member of Uplift Football Team not to neglect their academic pursuit at the expense of developing talents, "education is the key no matter your depth of talents."

In her remarks, the Wife of the Ogun State Governor and the initiator of the Event, Mrs Olufunso Amosun said members of Uplift Football Team emerged as the best 22 male footballers between ages 13 and 15 across the state having been assessed by reputable footballers.

She explained that some foreign clubs have indicated interest in partnering with the team as a result of the excellent show by the players during their programme in Italy.
