JOHN MIKEL OBI BAG NIGERIAN MVP AWARD

Nigeria and Chelsea midfielder, John Mikel Obi, was delighted to win the TomTom Most Valuable Player (MVP) award in the 2014 World Cup qualifier between Nigeria and Malawi in Calabar last Saturday.

The Blues midfielder was selected as the most outstanding player of the match with a reward of $5,000 courtesy of TomTom, the Official Candy of the Nigerian national football teams.
“It thrills me to be rewarded for contributing my own quota to the success of the national team. This is encouraging,” Mikel said.
The Super Eagles defeated Malawi 2-0 to top the Group F Table and advance to the play-off stage of the World Cup qualifiers.
