A lone goal from Aju Francisca was what Ibom Angels needed as they beat
Delta Queens 1-0 on match day two in the ongoing Nigeria Women Premier
League on Sunday at the Uyo Township Stadium.
It was a tensed game for the hosts as they wanted their first league victory of the season, after the disappointment of narrowly going down 3-2 to Osun Babes in the week one.
The home side in the opening minutes of the game opened fire on the away side but failed to hit the back of the net.
The away side stood very strong in the match as their defense curtailed the movements of the homers.
There was little to choose between the two sides but the Ibom Angels side looked more deadly whenever they were in the attacking third of Delta Queens.
Aju broke the deadlock and the game for Ibom Angels.
Delta Queens searched for the equalizer but Ibom Angels looked very strong at the back with no margin of error.
The tempo of the game went down as Ibom Angels reverted to a defensive tactic which paid off as they won the game 1-0 in Uyo
