Super Falcons Set To Feast On Woodbridge

The Super Falcons will strive to prove that they boast one of the best strike force in the world  on Saturday when they slug it out with a Woodbridge Football Club, a Canadian League 1 Women's Team.

The tune up game billed for the WoodBridge Soccer Centre will be used by the Nigerian coaches to perfect strategies for the FIFA Women's World Cup finals which begins next week.

Edwin Okon, Head Coach of the Falcons said that the game with WoodBridge FC will afford him the chance to try out various attacking options as well as ensuring that other areas of the team are in World Cup mood.

"We have worked on the lapses we observed  in the game against Canada and hopefully, the strikers would start scoring goals like they are known for. We shall try to perfect our tactics and strategies before the World Cup, and the girls will score a lot of goals," Okon stated.
The game will be played on Saturday at the WoodBridge Soccer Center at 6pm local time which is 11pm Nigerian time.

Meanwhile, NFF's Assistant Director (Technical), Siji Lagunju, has arrived in the team camp in Toronto to beef up the technical hub. He arrived on Wednesday night and has been part of the team's training sessions since.

Lagunju, a former Nigeria senior international, was part of the team's sessions before it left Nigeria but could not travel with the team because of the two-week CAF -License C Coaching Programme that he superintended.

He told the girls on arrival: "This is the World Cup, so everyone has to be at the top of her game. Do not think that you cannot win the World Cup; I don't subscribe to that feeling. I have strong belief that we can win this is we put our mind to it and give it our all."
