South Africa Willing To Clash With Nigeria On March 29th

South African Football Association  (SAFA) have informed the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) of the body’s willingness to play an international friendly on March 29th at a yet-to-be-decided venue.

SAFA chieftains are taking advantage of the cancellation of the international friendly betweeen Nigeria and Ghana’s Black Stars, hitherto slated to hold on March 29th in London, to seek a game against the Eagles.

Interestingly, NFF chiefs have commenced negotiations through the federation’s agents with firm words that the game could hold in South Africa, because of the closeness of the friendly match date to Nigeria’s Presidential elections billed to hold on March 28th.

NFF chiefs believe that it would be unwise to organise an international friendly anywhere in the country, 24 hours after the Presidential elections with counting of votes in progress.

In order to ensure that the Eagles play a game on the exisiting FIFA-free window for international matches, NFF men are looking at the possibility of having a game against Angola on the Southern African country’s home soil as a back-up in the unlikely event that the South Africa option fails.
