Babagana Emerge As Borno FA Supremo

A new board for the Borno state football association was elected at the association’s congress held yesterday at the conference hall of the state football association in the Elkanemi warrior’s sports centre.
The nine officers of the association were elected unopposed by the congress who returned Baba gana Kalli as chairman. The election congress was conducted after a thorough screening by security agents who ensured peaceful conduct of the elections.
The congress moved a motion to individually affirm and elect the nine board members of the state football association unopposed. The post of the chairman went to Baba gana Kalli who retained his post, while the post of first vice chairman went to Baba kura Abatcha and the second vice chairman went to Naza mohammed. Other elected members are Mohammed Alau, Isa mohammed , Ibrahim Abakar and Ba Ali Ajayi.
In his acceptance speech, the chairman Babagana Kalli thanked those who made the congress a success, calling on Government to maintain its support for Elkanemi warriors in order to return its lost glories. He also called for more support to other football clubs in the state with a view to developing our youth.
He announced the appointment of an elder in the state football, Alhaji Kachalla Gana as patron of the association. Alhaji kachalla earlier stepped down for the chairman in the just concluded election.
Also speaking at the occasion, the director of sports in the state sports ministry, Sadiq Kadafur expressed satisfaction with the peaceful and orderly conduct of the election which was supervised by representative of the NFF Inwa Sherrif Ahalan.
