When asked if he’d heard of the 5-0 win against Man United, 22-year-old Ameobi told the Evening Chronicle: “I was too young for that!”
But he quickly insisted he gets the significance of the battle between the two northern cities.
He added: “We’ve seen results in the last few years against Man United. They’ve come here and don’t always like it.
“Hopefully we can come out and show our stuff.”
