Puyol and Alves misses Bracelona training

Carles Puyol and Dani Alves was the notable absentees as Barcelona held an open training session this morning.

The Catalans opened the Miniestadi to 13,200 people on Friday morning for training, which included a practice match between players.

Finishing 4-4 between the sides, Lionel Messi demonstrated his continued recovery through taking a full part in the exercise and netting three times, whilst setting up the other goal.

Carles Puyol and Dani Alves were absent, with the former confirmed before the session as struggling with gastroenteritis and the latter recovery in the gym having missed yesterday’s double workout with a fever.

Puyol is reported by Barca as expected to be recovered in time to take a full part in training on Saturday, ahead of Sunday’s League meeting at home to Elche.
