Ligue 1 club Olympique de Béja have completed the loan signing of
Nigerian starlet Emeka Emerum from Tunisia powerhouse Esperance.
The 19 - year - old forward signed for struggling Olympique de Béja on an initial six - month loan deal immediately the winter transfer market opened.
Emeka Emerum had been linked with a move from Esperance due to his lack of first team opportunities.
“I left Esperance because of the number of foreigners and not all of us can be on the pitch because of the rules.
“I played my first game for Olympique de Béja yesterday (Saturday, ed) against Etoile Sahel and I was on the pitch for around 80 minutes.
“All I needed is playing time and the club have offered me that.
“I like the way they welcomed me and my target is to assist them escape relegation,” Emeka Emerum said to allnigeriasoccer.com.
For the remainder of the 2013 - 2014 season, the Nigerian will play with the number 19 jersey.
He still has a contract with Esperance until June 30, 2017.
