Barcelona custodian cleared, set to resume with the first team

Victor Valdes has handed Barcelona a boost by being cleared to return to playing action by the club’s medical staff.


The goalkeeper has been out of action since mid-November, having suffered a torn calf muscle whilst on international duty with Spain.

After sitting out 44 days, report the club’s official website, the player has now been assessed and cleared to resume playing activities for Tata Martino.

Jose Manuel Pinto has deputised in Valdes’ place in eight matches across three competitions.
