Nigeria’s Globacom Premier League side, Warri Wolves have released names of
their players registered with the Confederation of African Football,
CAF, for their campaign in the 2014 Confederation Cup.
In the 28-man list are Ikechukwu Ibenegbu who was recently signed from Heartland of Owerri, Home-Eagles’ defender, who is currently playing at the CHAN 2014, captain Azubuike Egwuekwe, Daddy Bazuaye who was signed from FC Cape Town of South Africa and ex-oalkeeper of the Flying Eagles, Ambrose Vazenkin.
Also on the list of players, a copy of which was made available to P.M.NEWS Sports on Sunday, are Odah Okiemute, Onamado Goodluck, John Agbawu, Efe Yarhere, Ike John ThankGod, Michael Egbeta, Kola Anobi, Bright Akpojuvwevo, Mine Ojo, Uche Osai, Joseph Osadiaye, Freedom Omoforman, Oghenekaro Etebo, Achibi Ewenike, Joshua Obaje and Sopuruchi Dimgba.
Ichull Lordson Tarade, Tejiri Rhiogbere, Joseph Eyimofe, Sunday Oke Ogagotewho, Brendan Ogbu, Osagie Monday and Najare Musa completed the roster.
Warri Wolves were drawn bye by CAF in the preliminary round of the Confederation Cup scheduled for the weekends of 7,8 and 9 February and 14, 15 or 16 of same month, but will join in the round of 16.
Warri Wolves will take on the winners of the two legged matches between US Douala of Cameroun and Aslad de Moundou of Chad who are playing in the preliminaries.
The dates of the round of 16 are expected to be decided by CAF after the preliminary round games have been played.
Warri Wolves hope to improve on their 2012 performance in the same competition where they failed to go beyond the second round. They played in the same competition in 2011.
The team qualified to represent Nigeria at the Confederation Cup after losing the final of the 2013 Federation Cup. They were beaten 2-1 by champions, Enyimba of Aba in the game played at the Teslim Balogun Stadium, Lagos.
