Shooting Stars move closer to life in the NNL

Ten-man Sharks Football Club kept their survival hopes alive with a had fought one-draw against Shooting Stars at Lekan Salami Stadium, Ibadan.

The Port Harcourt boys led by the tactical Gbenga Ogunbote took the lead through Fortuna Omonuwari hit a perfect drive that sailed through to the right hand post of Shooting Stars goalie. The goal was scored in the 44th minute of play.

The second half resumed with Hakeem Busari injecting Osagona Ighodalo, Tony Edjomariegwe and Philip Asuquo to add more bite to the Oluyole Warriors potency in front of goal.

They were rewarded when a Sharks defender committed a needless tackle in the 18-yard box. Nigeria Balotelli, Gbolahan Salami stepped forward to send Danladi Isah the wrong way in the 74th minute.

Shooting piled more pressure to score the winner, but poor finishing especially on the part of Ighodalo cost them.

The game ended one-all with Flying Eagles forward Christian Pyaraga bagging the MVP's award.
