Solid Miners Are The Team To Beat In 2015 Says Babanjah

Nigeria Professional Football League club, Nasarawa United has been tipped to be the team to beat in 2015.

The team manager of the Lafia based club, Solomon Babanjah said at the Abuja National Stadium where he came to see the LMC pre-season tournament.

Babanjah whose team, Nasarawa United gave a good challenge for the NPFL title last season said that the Solid Miners will build on their 2014 performance ahead of the new season.

“We have one of the best management in the country headed by Bar. Isaac Danladi and he doubles as the Chairman of the Premier League club chairmen,” Babanjah stated

“Two seasons back didn't go down well as planned but we did an evaluation of our performance and then came up with needed antidotes. We secured the services of the best coach at the time, Mohammed Babaganaru who had won the Premier League title back to back with Kano Pillars and also got former ABS coach, Kabiru Dogo to assist him.

"The impact of this new team of technical crew and young players gave us a strong challenge to finish on a high last season.

“The exit of Tony Edjomarigwe to Kano Pillars and a couple of key players won't affect the performance of the team because we've got a pool of thirty-five talented players to select from.

“Losing a couple of players to other clubs won't affect the team going forward because we shall definitely replace them with another set of talented players. In terms  of welfare, Nasarawa United keep to its promise, the welfare of the players is very important and we shall always motivate and encourage the players.”

The young team manager of Nasarawa United said that the Solid Miners have performed well last season and will no doubt improve next season, he however praised the LMC for a good job.

“We are satisfied with our performance last season and I can say here that we shall give a strong challenge next season. We shall definitely build on last season's performance.

“I think the League Management Company did well last season and I'm optimistic that they'll put up a good show next season,” Babanjah continued.

Babanjah made a bold promise to the fans of Nasarawa United: “We shall secure a continental ticket next season and I'm saying this with all modesty that Nasarawa United FC of Lafia will not only play in the CAF Champions League but will lift the trophy.

“I'll want the fans to pray for the Solid Miners next season, I'm stating it categorically because of what we are doing at Nasarawa United that we shall not only secure a CAF Champions League ticket but go ahead to lift Africa's biggest club football competition,” Babanjah added confidently.
