Oshoala Starts Liverpool Life On A High






Nigeria international Asisat Oshoala showed Anfield fans the stuff she is made of with a goal for Liverpool Ladies in a 4-1 friendly match victory against Aston Villa Ladies on Sunday.

The new signing from Rivers Angels looked sharp in the pre season friendly match played at the Select Security Stadium.

England international Dowie opened the scoring after two minutes firing home from a corner after the Aston Villa defence failed to clear the initial set piece.

The reigning Women’s Super League champions then double their lead ten minutes later as Oshoala for the home side excellently finished off a good team move.





The current African Women Football of the Year was substituted in the second half.


Aston Villa then pulled a goal when Natasha Baptiste finished neatly passed Danielle Gibbons following a defensive mistake from the home side.

The Reds soon opened up another two goal lead just after the hour mark as a clinical finish from Dowie gave the visitors goalkeeper no chance as the Reds number nine made it 3-1.

The final goal of the game came from American central defender Murray as the twenty one year old marked her debut scored an emphatic header from a Fara Williams corner to wrap up a comfortable victory for Beard’s side.
