Inabasi Shoots Pompey To Premier League Second Spot

Iniabasi Umotong continued her impressive scoring form in the ongoing English FA Women's Premier League Southern Division scoring one goal in Porthsmouth Ladies' 3-1 win over Keynsham Town LFC on Sunday.

Porthsmouth Ladies remain a point behind leaders Brighton – with a game in hand – after seeing off the side sitting at the foot of the Premier League Southern Division table.

The Blues broke the deadlock on 10 minutes when Jess Frampton’s shot rebounded kindly for Gemma Hillier to tuck the ball home.

And the visitors doubled their advantage before the break, as Shannon Sievwright launched an unstoppable 25-yard drive into the top corner.

Justine Lorton-Radburn did reduce the deficit from the spot after Eilidh Currie had been penalised for a foul in the box.

But Pompey made sure of the three points on 78 minutes when Ini surged forward and beat several defenders before firing into the net.

Ini will have to shoulder more of the goal scoring responsibilities for her side if they are to win a silverware this season.

She made her official international debut for Nigeria in an All Africa Games Qualification match against Mali in Bamako.
