Flying Eagles Intensify World Cup Preparations

Flying Eagles have stepped up their preparations for the 2015 FIFA U20 World Cup in New Zealand.

Thirty players trained Monday morning at the FIFA Goal Project in Abuja as the battle for places in the final 21-man squad for the World Cup intensified.

Only Enyimba midfielder Kingsley Sokari was missing after he featured for his club in a league match on Sunday at Kano Pillars.

The team will train twice a day till Friday, according to coach Garba Manu, who insisted that all squad places for the World Cup are up for grabs.

Officials said the four Europe-based players will join the squad at their training camp in Germany next month.

The players are Wilfred Ndidi (Genk, Belgium), Moses Simon (Gent, Belgium), Isaac Success (Granada, Spain) and Kelechi Iheanacho (Manchester City, England).

The Flying Eagles are drawn in a first round group that has Brazil, Hungary and North Korea.

They begin their campaign on June 1 against Brazil in New Plymouth
