Russian Club Releases Super Eagles Winger

Victor Obinna will have to look for a new employer after being released by Russian Premier League outfit, Lokomotiv Moscow.

According to the online edition of Information Telegraph Agency of Russia, the Super Eagles striker is one of the three players in the squad that has been shown the exit door.

A product of two - time African champions Enyimba, Victor Obinna has had spells with teams in Italy, Spain, England and Russia.

The 27-year-old achieved his greatest success as a professional while defending the colours of Chievo Verona from 2005 - 2008.

During that period, he scored a total of 19 goals in 82 matches for the Flying Donkeys, which earned him a move to Inter Milan in the summer of 2008.

The Beijing 2008 Olympics silver medallist failed to establish himself in the first team of the Nerazzurri, and was farmed out on loan first to Malaga, then West Ham, before moving to Lokomotiv Moscow as a free agent.

In 58 appearances for the Railwaymen, Victor Obinna managed to score 5 goals.
