Iheruome, Emmanuel Fires Quang Ninh To Victory In Vietnam

Quang Ninh moved up to 6th in the Vietnam League with a 2-1 victory over An Giang thanks to their Nigerian imports Uche Iheruome and Sunday Emmanuel at the Long Xuyen Stadium.

Patiyo Tambwe put the home side ahead when he gathered a right-wing pass and produced a clinical finish.

A powerful 20-yard Iheruome effort hauled Quang level before Emmanuel rounded the keeper and slotted in to hand the away team victory on Sunday.

The result helped Quang continue their impressive form to the business end of the season and the three points provided them with their second successive home league win.

Felix Ajala couldn't rescue his team from getting a result but he did well upfront.

“I think we deserved to win. It was a decent performance against a good side who didn't surprise us. They set themselves to beat us, but we showed we wanted the three points,” Emmanuel told only FGM.

"I thought in the first half we were well in the game and had some really nice passages of play and a couple of good opportunities where we didn't really work the goalkeeper,”  Iheruome was quoted by FGM.

"We conceded a goal and showed good character to not let that affect us and scored a great goal ourselves,” the 12-goal hero in the current V-League season added.
