Liverpool ready to bid for Diego Costa

Liverpool have reportedly come in with an offer of €25m to trigger Atletico Madrid striker Diego Costa’s release clause.

The Reds, who are fighting to keep hold of Luis Suarez, are reported in England today as having made an offer for Atleti’s Brazilian-capped forward.

Believed to be at €25m, the bid has apparently triggered the player’s buyout clause and has the Premier League side awaiting a response from Vicente Calderon officials.

Liverpool are believed confident that the 24-year-old would be open to the switch, with fellow Brazilians Lucas Leiva and Philippe Coutinho on their books.

Atleti have lost Radamel Falcao this summer to Monaco and brought in David Villa. The capital club are seen as currently only prepared to dip back into the market for a midfielder.
