Remo Stars Close In On NPFL Promotion


Remo Stars defender, Osas Okunaghae has described Sunday’s encounter against Akwa Starlet as a game they have to win in other to keep their hopes of qualification alive.

The Sky Blue Stars welcome Uyo based side Akwa Starlets at the Dipo Dina Stadium on Sunday in the week 27 of the Nigeria National League (NNL).

The Stars are currently 3rd on the log with 37 points, a point behind leaders Crown FC and Abia Warriors. A victory will see them acquire 40points, which could see them move to the summit of the Pool B.

“Looking at the log we still have a great chance of qualifying. It's just a point difference, but we are currently lacking behind in the goal difference and hope to score more goals and concede less," the former C.O.D United loanee declared.

“This is an encounter we have to stamp our authority and show the world that we are not done yet. We’ve got quality and team spirit; we believe in ourselves that we the chance to achieve something great this season.”

The Sky Blue Stars were defeated by a goal to nil in the corresponding fixture in Uyo, but were 3-1 winners over Fountain FC the last time out at the Dipo Dina Stadium.
