The Serbian defender was never a regular during Roberto Mancini's tenure, but is hopeful that under Pellegrini he will be able to move ahead of Gael Clichy in the battle for the left-back slot.
Since his arrival from Lazio in 2010, Kolarov has made 94 appearances for the club. Roughly a third of those, 33, came last season, but only 17 starts frustrated the 27-year-old.
With Clichy performing so consistently, Kolarov faces a fight to first-team recognition.
That desire to be playing regularly could see Kolarov leave and he is insistent that he is not just looking to move in order to increase his bank balance, admitting he would be prepared to take a pay-cut if it meant getting regular football.
“I’m in contact with my agent, and soon we will understand what may happen," he said. "I am happy at City but want to play regularly as I said to Roberto Mancini.
"Money is not everything in life and I have no problem in revising my salary. Simply, I want a place in the starting line-up.”
Juventus, who signed Carlos Tevez from City on Wednesday, are
reportedly interested in Kolarov, but no official move has been made by
the Italian champions.
