Blanc excited by PSG challenge

New Paris Saint-Germain manager Laurent Blanc has described his pride at taking control of the Ligue 1 champions.

The former France boss was confirmed as the replacement for Italian Carlo Ancelotti on Tuesday, following his move to become the successor to Jose Mourinho at La Liga side Real Madrid.

The 47-year-old is looking forward to the prospect of leading the Parisian giants and will set his charges testing targets ahead of the new campaign.

"I am very happy to be here and proud to lead Paris Saint-Germain," he said.

"It's a very exciting challenge. We are putting in place a competent staff with people who have the same desire (as me).

"The goals are very high, so I expect exemplary behaviour from all players."

Blanc also revealed that he is not concerned by the demands placed on him by the club's hierarchy, adding:

"It is normal that the leaders are demanding of the coach and his staff.

"I want to unite everyone around the project of Paris Saint-Germain. I think and hope that the team will be even better.

"When a club was champion and in the quarter-finals of the Champions League, the goal is to do even better."
