Remo Stars Football Club will take on Gateway United in the Ogun State FA Cup final at the MKO Abiola Abeokuta on Sunday and coach Uche Okagbue has expressed opimism about his lads making a statement this time around.
The Sky Blue Stars qualified for the State Cup final and Federation Cup (Nationals) after they defeated WUSU FC 4-0 in the semi-final to setup a final match-up with Gateway United for the third
consecutive season.
History hasn't been on the side of the Ikenne Remo based side in state cup final having lost two finals to Gateway United.
Okagbue isn't fazed by the Club's history in the state cup final and has expressed satisfaction over his wards upseting Gateway United in the first clash of both sides this year.
"Am not worried by the record, here is an opportunity to rewrite such records.
"This is just another game with Gateway United which will be my first final with Remo Stars FC and creating history is what i want to do with this Football Club, starting with the final in Abeokuta."
"The team is in good shape for this encounter come Sunday, we have to play our game to our very best. Its all about playing our game and exploring Gateway United weaknesses."
"We've got the believe and ability to win the State Cup final and also represent the state well in the Nationals of the Federation Cup and we are working together to ensure we have a good campaign in the Federation Cup."
