Iwobi Hattrick Steers Arsenal Under-21 To Victory

Alex Iwobi followed up his midweek brace against Brentford with a hattrick as Arsenal Under-21 recovered from a goal down to beat their Stoke City counterparts 4-1.

Arsenal Under-21 started the game with four established first team stars in Mikel Arteta, Jack Wilshere, Abou Diaby and Serge Gnabry but they found themselves one goal down in the 8th minute.

However Iwobi tipped to be heavily involved in Arsenal pre season restored parity for his side in the 24th minute beating two defenders before smartly placing his low drive into the Stoke City net.

He almost score his second of the game but his well taken 20 yard drive went few metres wide after nice work from Gnabry and Abou Diaby sent him through.

Three minutes to the half time break there was no denying the Nigeria Under-23 forward his brace as he buried a shot into Stoke net for his and his team second of the game but Diaby deserves some credit for the assist.

Substitute Stephy Mavididi thought he has rounded up Arsenal victory with his side third goal but Iwobi had the last say in the game scoring his third and Arsenal fourth.

He completed his hattrick by racing to a through ball and lobbing the goalkepper on the dot of 90 minutes further enhancing his chances of getting a look in by handlers of the senior team.
