Tello signs the dotted lines

Barcelona are believed poised to confirm that they have signed young winger Cristian Tello to a new contract.

The Catalans are known to have been in negotiations for the past few months with the 21-year-old over a new deal, despite it being less than a year since his last contract was signed with the club.

It is understood that Barca were keen to remove a clause relating to his buyout fee, that varied it each summer depending on the number of appearances Tello made during a season.

On from reports that the player has turned down a number of bids from abroad, today it is believed that he has agreed a new deal with the Blaugrana and that they are set to announce it officially.

Catalunya Radio report that Tello will be handed a two-year extension to see him through to June 2018 and that his buyout fee will be raised to €30m. Based on appearances last term, it is thought that Tello’s clause going into this summer was €10m.
