Sunderland v Fulham

Saturday 17 August 2013.

3pm: Sunderland v Fulham

Sunderland enjoyed a good record against Fulham last season, earning four points, with Stephane Sessegnon among the scorers in a draw at the Stadium of Light and a 3-1 victory at Craven Cottage.

Since Fulham were promoted in 2001, they have a superior record over the Black Cats, with seven victories to Sunderland's four. Three of their last four clashes at the Stadium of Light have been draws, so this could be a tight affair.

Sunderland signings: Cabral (FC Basle), Modibo Diakite (Lazio), Valentin Roberge (Maritimo), David Moberg Karlsson (IFK Goteborg), Vito Mannone (Arsenal), Jozy Altidore (AZ Alkmaar), El Hadji Ba (Le Havre), Emanuele Giaccherini (Juventus), Ondrej Celustka (Trabzonspor).

Fulham signings: Derek Boateng (FC Dnipro), Fernando Amorebieta (Athletic Bilbao), Maarten Stekelenburg (AS Roma), Giorgios Karagounis (Unattached), Sascha Riether (Cologne), Adel Taarabt (Queens Park Rangers).

Key stat: Fulham have kept a clean sheet in each of their last four Barclays Premier League matches on the opening day of the season.
