Juventus boss Antonio Conte is happy with the progress being made by new signings Angelo Ogbonna, Carlos Tevez and Fernando Llorente.
Although the Old Lady’s Guinness International Champions Cup campaign ended in disappointment, the tactician is content with what he is seeing from the club’s major summer signings.
“Carlos is improving game by game,” the former midfielder noted. “But it is obvious that he, Ogbonna and Llorente need to get to grips with the way we play.
“I’ve liked what I have seen of Ogbonna, I’ve liked that a lot. Llorente too who, once he has recovered from the hard pre-season, will deliver his best.”
The arrival of the trio has underlined the Bianconeri’s status as Serie A favourites, but Conte is expecting difficulties in 2013-14.
“The point is that this season will be very difficult,” he added. “I’ve told that to the players and myself, seeing as I never won three Scudetti in a row.
“We need to remain focused and determined. People on the outside will say that we’ve already won, that it is a formality, that we are the best.
“You can fall into the traps, to believe you are the strongest and thus underestimate the dangers that lie ahead.
“It will be a super, super, super tough championship for so many reasons. We’ll face enormous difficulties, many different kinds of difficulties.
“I hear everyone talking about the Champions League, but I want people to understand that winning the Scudetto again would be something important and historic…”
Only once before have the Old Lady won the title for three consecutive seasons. That was achieved by the Juve of the 1930s who won five in a row.
