Jose Mourinho said he wished Real Madrid ‘all the best’ after seeing his Chelsea team beaten 3-1 by his former club in Miami.
The Portuguese refused to answer questions in Spanish at the post-match Press conference, insisting he ‘would only speak in English because I coach an English team’, but wished his old club well for next season.
“I wish Madrid all the best. There are a lot of people there who appreciate what I did, starting with the President and right the way down to the simplest employee.
“I have no problem in saying I hope they win the League. I hope they win it. I’m not there anymore.”
Mourinho declared himself not too disappointed with the defeat and maintained he was not worried at this stage of the pre-season.
“We made mistakes that we need to work on but we’ve had five wins and one loss. There were no points at stake so it’s not a drama.
“It doesn’t hurt so much in a friendly match. If we had lost in a Champions League game against Real Madrid it would have been different, but at the moment I’m not worried.”
