Falcons Intensify Training For Mali

The Super Falcons have intensified preparation for the All Africa Games second leg clash with Mali on April 10 by moving from the Goal Project astro turf pitch of Abuja National stadium to the Main Bowl.

The African champions trained for about two hours at the Main bowl on Wednesday with the coaches putting emphasis on the condition and fitness of the players with a view to beating their Malian counterparts in the final AAG qualifier.

Coach of the team, Edwin Okon said that the girls fitness level must be right to beat the Malians adding that after conditioning they would shift to match strategy and aspects of the game.

"We decided to shift our training to the Main Bowl to enable the girls get used to playing on natural grass after several months of training and playing on astro turf. They can play anywhere but we want them to get used to the stadium and pitch which is where we will play our match next week that is why we changed base" he stated.

The Super Falcons were forced to a 1-1 draw in the first leg of the final qualifier in Bamako.
